Kaposi, Móric

Selye, János
The term “stress” was essentially coined by János Selye in 1950. The publication of Stress stimulated scientists all over the world and to extend his observations.

Semmelweis, Ignaz
Discovered, by 1847, that cases of puerperal fever, also known as childbed fever could be drastically cut by hand washing.

Szentágothai, János
His research concentrated on neural synapses and the functional organisation of cerebral cortex. He identified and described specific intracortical connections and he proposed the idea of cortical modular circuits clarifying the anatomical basis of the functional columns.

Szent-györgyi, Albert
Received the 1937 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, "for his discoveries in connection with the biological combustion processes, with special reference to vitamin C and the catalysis of fumaric acid." He isolated Vitamin C from Hungarian paprika.
